Knee's been playing up, so I've been eating on the sofa. The old tray slid off every time I reached for anything. This cushion holds. I wipe the top after porridge and that's the routine now.

That was the worry, that it would look clinical. The top is plain and it stands on its edge behind the sofa. You wouldn't know what it was from across the room.

He wanted the paper and a pot of tea off the arm of the sofa. This does that. He hasn't sent a mug down the side of the cushion, which for him is a result.
