I was doing eyebrows in a compact like a Victorian. This stands on the windowsill and the magnification is actually useful, not a funhouse. Folds or comes off the stand when I want the sill clear.

The stand detaches and it went to my sister's for a week in a washbag. Came back unsmeared, somehow. Daylight is the right light for it, so the window is where it stays.

He won't admit the word magnifying. He does use it to see what he's doing with a splinter. The base doesn't tip when you lean in, which was my worry on a narrow shelf.
